WELCOME TO WINRAE DORPERS
Winrae Dorper Stud was established in 1999 at 'Winrae' Station Bourke, NSW Australia.
The stud was started with 6 imported embryos from Tien Jordaan in 1998 and with constant strict selection and a major emphasis on Fertility and Mothering ability it is now a flock of 350 fullblood Dorper ewes.
Winrae Dorpers is committed to breeding the Dorper to the International Breed Standards and producing functional, hardy, well muscled rams and feminine, fertile, adaptable ewes.
The Pagett family were the first to introduce Dorpers to NSW Western Division and the breed's hardiness, fertility, wool shedding and mothering ability has led to a far broader uptake across the region in the years since.
Winrae Dorpers has been based at 'Winrae', a 25,000 acre sheep station situated 125kms North of Bourke and in 2015 the family decided to sell 'Winrae" after 60 years of Pagett ownership and move the stud to a new area.
The Pagetts have since sold their property at Warialda as well and have strategically relocated to one property, 'Killarney' near Canowindra in the Central West on NSW in November 2015.
Winrae Dorpers is a family owned business consisting of Brian and Kris Pagett, son Nick and his wife Melissa and their 4 children Billy,Jack,Pete and Grace.
Nick and Mel are both Quailified Dorper Judges and Inspectors and are passionate breeders and committed to the Dorper Breed and it's success in Australia and Overseas.
